Local Rulebook

About Local Rulebook

The rates and rules that apply where you live: minimum wage, sales tax, rent rules, and the dates they change, with every figure traced to its official source.

Why it exists

Local rules are scattered across hundreds of city, county, and state websites, and the summaries that pull them together often disagree with each other. We collect them in one place and show our work: every figure links to the government page it comes from, the date it takes effect, and the date we last checked it.

What we cover

We're starting with California: statewide and local minimum wages, pay rules, and sales tax, with housing and driving rules to follow. More states will come after that.

What we don't do

We don't take positions on laws or candidates, and we don't publish commentary. We report what the rules are and when they change. Nothing here is legal or tax advice; see the disclaimer.

How we stay accurate

We use primary government sources only, watch those sources for changes, and have a person check every change before it's published. We never claim to be perfect. When we get something wrong, we fix it and log it on the corrections page. Read more about how we verify.

Who publishes it

Local Rulebook is an independent site published by Paris Supply Group LLC. It isn't affiliated with any government agency. Questions and corrections are welcome on the contact page.
